Trip needs religion

Trip's blessing at dinner recently:

God is great, God is good.
Let us thank him for our food.
By his hands we all are fed.
Give us Lord our garlic bread.

Daddy-Daughter Dance

Bert escorted the lovely Sara P. to the Daddy-Daughter Dance at Hermitage Country Club last weekend. She was breathtaking in her floral and white cotton dress with matching shrug, and he was dashing in his dark blue suit. Truly a handsome couple. They enjoyed dinner and then danced the night away - apparently much to Sara's chagrin on a few lively numbers where her father demonstrated the classic "white man's overbite" dance step. Later, they indulged in the fun of the chocolate fountain. Rubbing her upset tummy, Sara informed us that you CAN have too much chocolate!

Girls' weekend at Corolla

Beth and the girls enjoyed a spectacular weekend at Corolla. The weather was a wee bit chilly but there was plenty of sun, bingo, wine and fun! Joining the Hardy girls were Michele Rhudy and her two adorable girls Morgan and Hannah, Sheli Sims and the ever-entertaining Samantha, Sharon Jones and the very patient Anna, and our good friend and neighbor Morgan Potts. We had fun driving up the north beach to Carova, taking pictures, and watching the beautiful bald eagles who seem to have adopted our marsh as their home.

Unbelievably, it didn't occur to me to take a picture of the whole gang until folks had already left on Sunday. A great time was had by all but next time, it's just us "grown up girls" going to the beach!

Another funny Trip story!

Poor Trippy was constipated at school the other day. He couldn't go potty and wanted to go home (he has better success there). The teacher sent him to go visit the school nurse for help. The nurse asked Trip what was hurting. Trip said he didn't want to say as it might get him in trouble. The nurse said to just spell it. Trip then tells her that his "a-s-s hurts"! She told him that maybe he should just call it his bottom from now on. We should be getting the call from child protective services any day now...
