The kids rock Luray Caverns!

Beth took the boys and Sara & Morgan to Lurary Caverns recently. We reveled in the awesome beauty of these caverns - the amazing stalagmites and stalactites that formed calcite "waterfalls," "totem poles," "drapes," columns, the famous fried eggs, and even a mirror lake.

The boys got to push the button that made the Stalacpipe Organ play. They were thrilled! The audio tour was great and prompted the kids to follow a scavenger hunt through the caverns. Of course, the daily question now is "Mom, can we go to Grand Caverns? Skyline Caverns? Crysal Caverns? Shenandoah Caverns?" etc. I guess we may have some spelunkers on our hands.

The Johns Come for a Visit

Greg, Angie, Kevin and Perry trekked to Oilville for a visit. They were in town for only a few days but we had big fun. The fishing was fine, the cookouts were great, and the girls enjoyed a fun outing to the Science Museum of Virginia. As always, our time together was too short but we'll start planning our next visit now. Samson nearly made the trip back to Knoxville with the Johns. His stowaway plans were thwarted, but not before he handily ate all of the almonds and other snacks in their car!
